Case Study : Oracle eBusiness Suite Development and Support – Transport Sector

Customer Profile:
Client is a customer of the iWareLogic partner in Canada (leading IT company which is providing IT solutions to business sectors). It is the biggest company in the transport sector in US and Canada and is operating school buses and other transportation facilities from 150+ centres in US and Canada.

Business Need:
Client wants to move to Oracle E-Business Suite as core Enterprise Resource Planning system. It decided on Oracle E-Business Suite (R12) for the features and benefits. The Client also want to make complete refresh of IT infrastructure. There are 3000 + users logging in from different branches in Canada and US. The servers are available 24 by 7 to the end users.

Business Challenges:
Client has been using Canadian consultants to implement Oracle E-Business Suite 12 but project is late and has gone beyond budget. Client staff have no experience of Enterprise Resource Planning system features and usage. Users have many unsolved problems related to use of system and Client requires help in implementation and customization of Work-flows, Forms, Reports, etc.

iWareLogic’s partner IT company does not have required expertise in Oracle Apps ERP system and volume of infrastructure support was exceeding capacity to deliver. iWareLogic was engaged to handle implementation operations and support, make transfer to new system without disrupting the operations and give support for servers and support systems.

iWareLogic Partnership and Solution:
iWareLogic took over Total Ownership Responsibility from Partner’s existing IT team to manage implementation and support the infrastructure 24 by 7. On site and off site coordination and project management was also done by iWareLogic utilising the experienced and highly skilled staff resources for this project. Solution was delivered using ‘onsite – offsite’ delivery model. iWareLogic team was on-site in Canada and US and delivered development and user support. Infrastructure management was from offshore in India by iWareLogic and through Indian Partner companies.

Scope of engagement:
Prepare and Plan for ERP module implementation, Functional Business and Process Analysis. Workflows mapped to new process by Business System Analysts, Customised reports and automation including scripting and alerts. Configuration, Development, Testing of Oracle eBusiness Suite modules following Best Oracle Practices, Support for end users by providing User Support Solution from Level 1 (User Queries) to Level 3 and working with Super Users. System and Application Database management, optimisation, performance tuning, Server load balancing, addition of new components, and integration with required solution, Database backup and recovery, Management of testing, and production servers and Databases for all Oracle Instances, Support of various IT infrastructures such as Windows and Unix servers, AD, Exchange, etc.

Oracle EBS modules are Oracle Financials (GL, AP, AR, FA, CE), Oracle SCM & eAM, Oracle Inventory, Oracle Order Management, Oracle Purchasing, Oracle Payroll, Oracle Time and Labor, Oracle HR, Oracle CRM, Oracle Costing, Oracle Project management.
